7th Grade Oracle Team

Picture
The seventh grade teams establish a community within our school that promotes respect, academic rigor, and personal responsibility while encouraging teamwork and interdependence. Our year-long theme of “change” is the foundation on which we build an understanding of the core content areas. Whether studying the cycles of change found throughout history, the changing of life over geologic time, the transformation from concrete to abstract mathematical thinking, or the dynamic changes of a literary character, students will gain a better understanding of the important role they play in our ever-changing world.

Key events of the 2010-2011 school year:

  • Large-scale culminating projects
  • Lava Java Cafe and Poetry Anthology
  • Student memoirs
  • Science field trip to the Field Museum
  • Cell metaphor projects
  • Civil Rights research project
  • End of the year grade level trip to Lincoln Park Zoo
