Language Arts Department
The Language Arts curriculum at OOJH focuses on four key components: reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Reading instruction includes word analysis and vocabulary skills, literary elements and technique, literary works, and reading strategies. Writing instruction emphasizes focus, organization, elaboration, and conventions. In order to meet the individual needs of each students, teachers use formal and informal assessment data to guide their instruction.
