Special Education

The purpose of the Special Education Department is to help students achieve academic independence and success as they progress through the junior high experience. We will:
  • help students understand their learning styles and their academic strengths and weaknesses
  • guide students to set realistic goals and develop a plan towards achieving them
  • teach students strategies that will allow them to become more successful in their academic careers and beyond
  • offer accommodations, modifications, and collaboration to support students in the general education environment
  • provide direct instruction and remediation to meet the individual needs of each student
